DAVIDE DI CENSO
I was born and raised in Bologna, Italy before moving to California in 2008. Since I was a child I have always been deeply interested in movement arts and I started studying martial arts as a way to understand biomechanics and increase my body awareness ( eventually finding my style in Wing Chun and Kali Eskrima Arnis).
In California I started studying AcroYoga, hand-balancing and handstands with some of the best teachers in the world and became a certified Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga teacher in Rishikesh, India in 2011.
After leaving my corporate job in 2016 I now live with my family in the San Francisco Bay Area, where I enjoy teaching, geeking out on movement arts, biomechanics, body conditioning, nutrition and lifestyle. I define myself as a yoga and acroyoga teacher, hand balancer and overall movement junkie. I'm interested in helping people discover their physical and mental abilities along the path to self-mastery.
My yoga practice is strong and invigorating, rich in arm balances and inversions, always with a strong attention to strengthening and engaging the student's body first. I emphasize awareness of the breath and of the present moment as some of the main pillars of my classes and as the base for the students' self practice.
I currently offer Yoga, Acroyoga, Handstands and Body Conditioning classes in addition to workshops and privates. Feel free to contact me with your specific needs and I look forward to meeting you soon!
“My focus is to unite a strong body with a strong mind in a open-eyed meditation practice. I’m interested in leading students in a strong asana practice where they learn to use their body in new ways they didn’t think was achievable.”
